I saw a show on the Speed channel this morning about a V-8 powered barstool. This thing is called the Hoss Fly and looks dangerous. It has a go-cart frame, four wheels, a garden tractor transmission, and a Chevy V-8 engine.
The show this thing was built on was called Gearztv. I really couldn't believe somebody would be dumb enough to put such a big engine on something as unstable as a barstool. The stool was really just a round seat screwed to the top of the air cleaner on the engine. There were no motor mounts, and nothing but open headers for an exhaust. There really is no practical use for such a device, besides tooling around parking lots raising a racket.
If you want to see pictures of this thing or buy a kit to build one, check out this site. I imagine it would set you back well over a thousand dollars to get one of these contraptions running. You might use it to demonstrate human stupidity in engineering, I suppose, or get yourself into a horrible accident on the freeway. As something to look at for entertainment or as a curiosity for people with too much money and time on their hands it might be nice. If you do get one of these things, just be careful driving it. There are no brakes and no seatbelt.
